At A2U we’re proud to have a hardworking and dedicated staff. This month, David Holdan takes the title for “Employee Spotlight.”
As our new CTO, Holdan comes to A2U with a wealth of experience in healthcare IT. Previously, Holdan was the CEO of an IT consulting firm, UMed, based in Philadelphia. Holdan has proven to be an asset to our team the past few months, leading all technical teams.

Q: Are you married? Do you have any children?
A: My wife, Cheri and I have been married for 24 years and we have two children (Brittney age 21; Brandon age 17).
Q: Where’s home?
A: I was born and raised in Pittsburgh but moved to Philly in 1990 after graduating college.
Q: Where did you graduate college?
A: Clarion University
Q: What does leadership mean to you?
A: Leadership to me means setting an example for my colleagues, always “being real,” bringing organization and direction in the calm and chaotic times. It’s also about holding myself and others accountable for responsibilities.
Q: Do you have a personal philosophy or motto?
A: It is what it is!
Q: What have been the top three highlights of your life?
A: Meeting my wife of 24 years in college, the birth of my daughter Brittney and my son Brandon.
Q: What is the one thing you cannot resist?
Q: Can you tell us something that might surprise us about you?
A: I’m a former cyclist and triathlete turned yogi. I love to practice Bikram hot yoga and Power yoga.
Q: What’s your favorite movie or book?
A: I don’t actually have one, but the movie I have seen more than any other is National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. It was a tradition in our family while my father-in-law was alive.
Q: What’s the best piece of advice you can share with recent graduates?
A: Follow your heart and passion before your wallet. Become aware of what excites you to get up in the morning and figure out how to make a living doing it.
