Michael EspositoVice President
Citrix Certified Sales Professional
founded Applications2U in 2003 with the goal to provide small and medium-sized businesses the technology that larger, enterprise companies traditionally deploy – cloud hosted technology. He brings a wealth of experience in managing IT projects at very large-scale companies including those with over 50,000 user implementations. As president of Applications2U, Dan is responsible for strategic direction, business development, customer support management and new hire selection.
Dan’s technology leadership includes being the technical lead at FedEx in charge of a startup sister company, desktop and application delivery to it’s roughly 1,000 facilities around the US and Canada, and managing the Citrix technology associated with the application and desktop access. From FedEx, Dan went on to work for ACS and was tasked with migrating a large Citrix farm for Scotts from a data center in Ohio to one in Pennsylvania with limited down time.
From ACS, Dan began working at UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center) as the senior Citrix architect. Over the course of a few years, the Citrix environment grew from a few dozen applications to thousands of applications being accessed by over 40,000 users. Dan managed a team of eight engineers keeping the environment running smooth so as to not impact patient care. After his work at UPMC, Dan went on to work as a Systems Engineer for Citrix Systems. After almost three years at Citrix, Dan now enjoys building upon his experience by helping other companies successfully implement, support or host desktops and applications via Applications2U solutions.
Currently, UPMC contracts Applications2U and Dan to manage the Citrix environment that includes hundreds of servers, 2,500 applications and serves up onsite and remote access to applications and desktops to more then 40,000 users.
When he’s not working, Dan focuses on family life. He is married with three beautiful children that keep him very busy. He enjoys the fast pace at work and it carries right into his personal life. His family is involved in the local church and he spends the remaining time with kids in swimming, hockey, baseball, karate and other fun activities. In the evenings for added excitement, Dan plays ice hockey in the local men’s league.
Dan’s family values are reflected at works as well. He manages the Applications2U team like a family with the message of “work hard, play harder.” Those two things do not have to be exclusive. Customer service is another important company value. Dan truly believes and ensures everyone on the team lives the motto “the customer is always first.” Nothing pleases him like the emails he saves from customers that recognize the service level his team provides.

Michael brings with him a wealth of knowledge from a number of disciplines, beginning with his background in education, to sales in mortgage origination and loan modifications, to his tenure as a manager in Bank of America’s Foreclosure Servicing Department.
Michael is a graduate of Slippery Rock University and began teaching in the Pittsburgh City School District in 2001 as a high school Spanish teacher and varsity football coach. During his years as an educator and coach in Pittsburgh and also in Las Vegas, Michael learned to incorporate a variety of strategies to effectively inform and educate his students and athletes. He maintains and implements these same strategies while working with new and existing clients as it relates to the cloud technology provided by Applications2U.
In regards to his sales experience as a mortgage originator and loan modifications, Michael was well ahead of the “bubble” when he began taking real estate and mortgage classes while teaching and coaching high school. His interest and pursuit of this career was curbed when he decided to pursue a Master’s degree from the University of Valladolid in Valladolid, Spain in 2004-2005. Upon his return home, Michael was interested in pursuing his career in mortgage origination, and thus moved to Las Vegas, NV where the market was booming and Spanish could have also been considered a first language. He experienced great success in this field but as mortgages were dwindling, he found himself back in education, while at the same time continuing his pursuit of sales within the real estate and lending market.
While again teaching Spanish and coaching football, Michael began his research on the need for loan modifications due to the bursting of the real estate “bubble” and this interest ultimately led him to work in the loan servicing department of Merrill Lynch, which was soon after purchased by Bank of America. Due to his experience, knowledge base, and technology leadership, Michael rapidly ascended into a Team Manager role, at which point his focus was moved away from loan modifications and into the foreclosure department. In his role as a Team Manager, he and his team oversaw the foreclosure process for thousands of loans while collaborating with a nationwide network of attorneys.
Michael has now become a valuable and key member of the Applications2U team. While his main focus is on the growth and development of the sales division at Applications2U, he also oversees the day-to-day activities within the office. In addition, he works closely with the Applications2U marketing director in order to provide input and feedback on ideas to move the company forward. Michael doesn’t only focus on the sales side of Applications2U but makes every attempt to work with the Applications2U technical team in order to be certain he is in tune with the changing technology as well as be certain that all customer needs and requests are being met.
